The first time I ever spoke to Leah, we were on the phone for nearly an hour, chatting away like old friends. A week later, we met face to face and I got to meet Heath - again, I was instantly at ease in their company.
With the exclusion of those who live interstate or abroad, I always make time to meet my couples before they book me as their wedding photographer. The connection that I so quickly felt with Leah and Heath - the sense of being so at ease with one another, sharing laughter one moment, comfortable silence the next - is one of the most important ingredients in amazing wedding photos.
Leah and Heath will be married at the stunning White Chapel, Kalbar, just an hours’ drive outside of Brisbane. Kalbar itself is a small town with all the charm you’d expect, surrounded by all of the epic scenery the scenic rim has to offer.
I got to meet their fur babies Hank and Lilly and capture them doing what they do best - exploring new places in their van Horton. One of my favourite parts was having Leah and Heath take a seat and just five minutes to really take in and enjoy the surrounds - a rare treat, made even sweeter by the exceptional sunset that was on display.
It really was the end to a pretty damn fine afternoon.
Leah and Heath, I am so excited to return to Kalbar with you both in October. For now though, here is your story xxx
