Last November, I was one of five to witness Kev and Sabrina exchange vows at their sunrise elopement. Weeks before, we had met for the first time in their favourite coffee shop and instantly, I knew theirs was one of those particularly special love stories to tell.
Now expecting their first baby, Sabrina, Kev and I spent an hour together like good friends amongst the pines. As dusk turned the sky shades of purple and orange, we walked the dirt path back to the cars, reminiscing about their wedding, the remarkable sunrise, the stunning ceremony and how everything just fell into place. On my drive home, I reflected on how amazing it was to not only capture massive moments like weddings, but to meet clients like old friends and capture them again and again, documenting their journey through life.
Sabrina and Kev, all the best over the coming weeks and I can’t wait to meet your new arrival in just a couple of months' time. To all the stories to come in the future, this is your story just now xx
Earlier this year, I introduced a new lifestyle photography collection, Baby's First Year. This collection includes four separate sessions - expecting, newborn, 6 months and 12 months - and is all about documenting that first year which is so punctuated by change, ups and downs and the most intense, unprecedented love as a family grow together. Sure, I know that new parents have iPhones full of baby photos but I stand by the importance of parents - both parents - being in the frames with their family. Completely in the moment. Because really, such moments are fleeting but memories are forever. To find out more about how I can capture your story, contact me here.
