Linka + Matt | Brisbane Botanical Gardens Engagement Session

Brisbane Wedding Photographer | Engagement-Elopement Photography Botanical Gardens-10.jpg

I met Linka and Matt when shooting another wedding down at Fig Tree Restaurant, Byron Bay. It was after the craziness that is the “all in!” group shot that they quietly approached me for a shot of them under the ancient and immense fig and I remember at the time, having a feeling that they were either just engaged or so so close to being so.

As I later found out, Matt proposed to Linka just after this wedding and as Linka brought me up to speed with it all over the phone, I kept on saying “I just knew it!” - there was something about their connection, the way Matt looked at Linka just before that photo was taken, that said to me so clearly that this was a forever couple.

A year on and with their own wedding just weeks away, we met at the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens and spent time in the cactus garden, a place where these two went to in their early weeks of dating. Beer was shared and being a late Tuesday afternoon, it felt as though we had run of the garden.

Linka and Matt - shooting in the cactus garden has been on my bucket-list for some time so thank you for making this dream a reality, with the added bonus of it being a place of meaning to you both. Like our first encounter, it really is as though some things are meant to be.

Thank you for approaching me to take that photo at Mel and Erin’s wedding. Thank you for being so damn adorable a few weeks ago at your engagement shoot. Thank you for drinking quality beer.

I am literally counting down the days until your wedding.

For now, this is your story xx

A massive thank you again to all my amazing couples who have had me along to capture their love story. The 2019/2020 wedding calendar is now open and I love capturing couples who just want to get out somewhere lovely (or chill at home) so if you’d like to find out more about wedding collections or couples shoots click here or drop me a line - or do both! I’d love to hear from you.
