Nathan + Amy | Geelong Country Wedding
I had the honour of travelling down just south of Geelong to the beautiful country town, Ceres, to photography Nathan and Amy’s wedding day.
The weather I left was hovering around 32 degrees. The weather I arrived to was 6 degrees and we are not even taking into account a wind chill factor. It was cold, it was windy and it was wet.
After a morning of torrential rain, I took the road to Ceres and was met with clouds parting and a rainbow on the horizon. It seemed that the weather gods were smiling on this wedding and whilst the skies did open during the ceremony at first kiss, there was something crazily romantic about the clouds closing in, the umbrellas flying and Nathan and Amy just holding one another.
Being a Brisbane girl through and through, I spent the entire day in a giant puffer jacket, sucking the body heat from anyone within metres of me. My fingers may have turned to ice by the end of the evening, but there is nothing but warmth and gratitude inside me when I think back to this day.
Things that made my heart burst during this day. Firstly, Amy’s smile. I am not exaggerating when I saw that Amy smiled the entire day and night. It was as though her entire being was consumed with the joy of what was happening and her attitude was infectious. Then, there was the way Nathan and Amy looked at each other throughout the day. Also, the emotion of Amy’s Dad when he saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. Last but by no means least, the warmth and support of the wedding party - they were one of the sweetest, kindest group of people I’ve had the pleasure of keeping company with.
Nathan and Amy - thank you for having me capture your day. To be able to tell your story really is, an honour xx
