Inside Broadway Chapel and just as the ceremony was about to begin, afternoon sun danced with one of the leadlight windows, casting the most beautiful light over the wedding party. It really was just one of many incredibly surreal moments that took place during Nikki and Lucas' wedding day, moments that made you appreciate all the simple yet wonderful things that are possible.
I find it hard to put into words all that was great about this day, so I'm going to launch into a random highlight. We were taking some wedding portraits in the Woolloongabba Antiques Centre when Gene Pitney started playing and out of nowhere, Nikki, Lucas and their entire wedding party started clicking and bopping away to this golden oldie. Like true love, some things are timeless.
(Sadly, I was the only one who actually knew Gene Pitney. Kids, if you don’t know who Gene Pitney is, ask your parents. Or google it)
Nikki – I don’t think you stopped smiling the entire day or night. You were utterly radiant.
Lucas – whenever I’ve been in your presence, I’ve always felt this amazing sense of calm. Thank you for whatever it is you do to put everyone at ease – it is a gift.
And to the entire wedding party, family and friends – what a wonderful group of people to spend a day with. Thank you all for the laughs throughout the day – I’m so fortunate to be able to do a job that when surrounded by such incredible people, does not feel like work one bit.
Congratulations on your amazing wedding day. It really was a pleasure to be along to capture all the smiles, love and fun. This is your story xx
There is nothing I love more than capturing all the joy, love and fun of a wedding day. I'm currently taking bookings for 2018 so if you are getting hitched, drop me a line!
