Winter sun | Gold Coast Family Photography Session, Currumbin
In just a few weeks time, it will be spring. I LOVE spring time - with the longer, warmer days - so I find myself doing an internal happy dance about the change of season. Saying that, I acknowledge that we hardly do it hard during a Brisbane winter and most days have hit temperatures that have my yet-to-acclimatise-Scottish wife sweating in her shorts and singlet as she tries to get about clumsily in flip-flops.
Earlier this year, I introduced my Everyday Captured collection which was all about bringing a photography experience to those who didn't want a cookie-cutter portrait session, but instead images that really captured the essence of their family, the connections they have and the way they interact with one another and the world around them.
To celebrate the introduction of these sessions, I ran a competition and this fantastic family were my competition winners. Steph's entry really struck a chord - they had yet to have any professional family photos because one of their children was particularly camera shy and would find the experience quite distressing. They were the perfect candidates for an Everyday Captured portrait session and their images really sum up what I love about these sessions. Natural, beautiful images that capture the personality of each family member. Unobtrusive, sensitive and meaningful.
Oh - and taken smack-bang in the middle of winter. Like I was saying...
Please sit back and enjoy.
